So I was contemplating going to Laguna Seca this year but the logistics got in the way. Apparhently saving for a wedding eats up more of my play money than I thought. I will definitely be watching on Sunday ( no live broadcast ) and will enjoy every moment of it. In other news a new season of bat racer has kicked up and I will post up Rival Motorsports GT efforts this weekend.

PLM News.... Wet
Here's an image Lou posted up of his GT2 Corvette during testing earlier this week. From what I have heard it has been EXTREMELY wet in Georgia this week. Later this week I will be posting up some more images and doing some predictions on the race!

Bat Racer
So roughly 2 months ago someone at www.americanlemansfans.com posted about a management racing game called Bat Racer. Since then I have been hooked. They have a carset for Endurance Le Mans style racing which has been a lot of fun. My friend and I started a team (Rival Motorsports) racing C5R Corvettes in the GT Class. Accolades for our first season:
1st place Team in GT Class
1st place individual in GT Class
3rd place individual in GT Class
Basically... we kicked ass.
Unfortunately my friend has left for Europe for 3 weeks and our current efforts are... not as successful :)
Here's my current livery for my GT2 efforts in a ferrari.
1 more week until Petit!

Waiting for Petit Le Mans
Petit Le Mans is going to be great this year, I cant wait. With Audi and Peugeot coming over, as well as some smaller teams like ORECA and the new Drayson LMP1 effort, watching the P1 class is going to be a lot of fun. I'm sure Acura is happy to finally have some teams to race against.
So 2 more weeks until I can sit my butt on the couch and enjoy some awesome racing.

The First Post
Now that's what I'm talkin about!
This is what I said when I first saw an American Le Mans Series (ALMS) race on television. It was the final race at Laguna Seca in the 2007 series. What caught my eye were the GT Cars. Porsches and Ferrari's that were easily identifiable as the cars that they are. I remember what I now know as the Jake liveries on the Corvettes and thinking how sexy those two v8 rumbling engineering marvels looked coming down the corkscrew of Laguna Seca. That race got me started.
In 2008, I attended my first ALMS race in Long Beach and witnessed the glory in person. Hearing these cars in person for the first time brought a HUGE smile to my face. If you haven't gone to a race yet, do it. I remember laughing at how ANGRY the Corvettes and the other cars with American v8's and the viper v10 sounded compared to, the "sexier" sounds coming from the ferrari and porsches. That and the diesel Audi R10's freaked me out with how quiet their diesel engines were.
So here I am, 2009, and it is safe to say I am hooked. I enjoy playing endurance related games, coming up with my own liveries, and fantasizing like a little boy what it would be like. So lets hope that this blog is somethin a lil different than what you are use to and let's enjoy!
